Mr Peter Smith Master of Aviation Management (Griffith) MSc (Research) Student
Research details By investigating the role of management training and safety in fire fighting by aircraft in Australia, Peter Smith’s research area seeks to identify critical success factors at an operational and management level within regulatory and organizational environments. Peter Smith has had over 40 years’ interest in aviation at both professional and personal levels. He has operated light twin engine aircraft and a helicopter commercially and was founding director of the company that established the first fully dedicated aero medical service in Tasmanian. In association with the Tasmanian Ambulance Service in the 1980’s, the company conducted emergency and regular patient transport and was on call for emergency search and rescue services. Peter has personally held multi engine fixed wing and rotary wing licences and engineering approvals for helicopters. Recent professional experience has been acquired outside the aviation industry by providing corporate management consulting services but he returned to his first interest by recently completing his Masters of (Aviation) Management at Griffiths University. |
