AVIA 5005 Airline Operational Management Aims Airline Operational Management includes the operational and day to day aspects of airline management such as operational control, aircraft maintenance, outsourcing, crew planning and scheduling, airport management, in-flight services, delay and punctuality control, marketing and emergency planning. The course covers these aspects of the day to day management and the relationship between these functions and those of the corporate areas in AVIA5009. These matters drive the major airline cost areas. Lecturer Location This course runs for twelve weeks. It is delivered entirely in Distance Learning format and is therefore accessible from any location. Assessment Students are required to complete two written assignments on topics that will be detailed in the Distance Learning manual. The assignments must be word-processed with all students expected to have a back-up copy on disk, to be made available to lecturer on request. There is also a final examination with this course.
