AVIA 5024 Flight Deck Operations for Advanced Transport Aircraft Aims This course takes a holistic approach to advanced transport aircraft by considering environmental, technological, human factors and organisational influences on flight deck operations. The course aim is to equip students with a wide ranging understanding of these diverse issues to provide a broader reference base which can result in improved overall performance. A significant outcome is the ability of students to be able to discern the advantages and disadvantages of different types of advanced technology, and then apply those lessons in their own working environment. Location This course runs for twelve weeks. It is delivered entirely in Distance Learning format and is therefore accessible from any location. Assessment Students are required to complete two written assignments on topics that will be detailed in the Distance Learning manual. The assignments must be word-processed with all students expected to have a back-up copy on disk, to be made available to lecturer on request. There is also a final examination with this course.
