AVIA 5311 Inflight Services Management

Aims

This course studies the Inflight Services Management aspects of commercial aviation. It examines how a multitude of activities come together to provide a passenger with a comprehensive and competitive range of incabin services, from food and beverages to movies, newspapers and blankets.

The course also looks at the interrelationship between the airline and the inflight caterer and the complexity of the service provision activities. It takes the student through the planning, designing, pricing, production and provisioning aspects of Inflight Services Management.

Location

This course runs for six weeks.
It is delivered entirely in Distance Learning format and is therefore accessible from any location.

Assessment

Students are required to complete one written assignment on a topic which will be detailed in the Distance Learning manual. The essay must be word-processed with all students expected to have a back-up copy on disk, to be made available to lecturer on request.

An examination will also be held at the end of the session.
