AVIA 1900 Aviation Economics

Aims

To develop an appreciation of the main drivers in the economics of an airline. This will be done through:

  • An understanding of the regulatory environment's impact on the airline industry
  • A study of how the demands for airline services are impacted by various economic factors
  • A study of how airline costs structures are impacted by management decisions

Location

This course runs for seven weeks from Week 1 to Week 7 in Session 2 2007.

Lectures are held in: Mathews Theatre C at 1300 - 1500 and 1600 - 1800 on Wednesday.

Assessment

The course has four (4) forms of assessment.

One assignment is a report from a selected course list; another assignment is part of a group and requires a report and a presentation.

Tutorials are handed in and marks achieved. A guide to report writing is downloadable the Learning Centre.

The exam is to be held in Week 7 of Session 2.
