AVIA 2400 Aviation Regulations 1

Aims

  • To develop an understanding of the structure of the Australian legal system.
  • To develop an understanding of the influence and interrelationship of our legal system and the aviation industry.
Philosophy

Aviation Regulations I aims to provide you with an overview of the regulatory structure of civil aviation in Australia. The course focuses on the legal system within which this regulatory system operates and the powers, responsibilities and scope of the various aviation regulatory authorities.

Location

This course runs for two hours per week in SESSION ONE.
Lectures are held in OMB 145A from 1500-1700 on Thursdays.

Assessment

Assessment for this course is one essay of 2-3,000 words (topics are provided in week 3) which accounts for 40% and a final examination upon completion of the course (60%). A range of essay topics are provided and the final exam will cover material from the entire course. More details of assessment will be provided in class.
