AVIA 3600 Simulation Applications Aims At the conclusion of this courses, students will have an enhanced awareness of the fundamentals and basic concepts of simulators and synthetic devices to aviation training and development and be familiar with the scope and limitation of the resources and potentials available to them as line pilots or airline managers in the implementation of simulator applications. Philosophy This course addresses the broad application of simulation to the aviation industry and covers the topics of: history, fundamentals, modeling and hardware, implementation, application, educational considerations and current development trends. While the emphasis of this course is on aircraft simulation, aspects of operations and systems simulation are also discussed The perspective of this course is that of an end user, particularly from point of view of line pilots, trainers and managers. Lecturer Location This course runs for six weeks in Session 1 2008. Lectures are held in: Central Lecture Block 3 at 1300-1700 on Thursdays. Assessment
